Choosing the Right Car for the Makkah to Madinah Trip

The road between Makkah and Madinah is about 450 kilometres along the Al Hijrah expressway. Four and a half hours in a car is not a short trip, and the difference between a suitable car and an unsuitable one becomes very clear by the third hour.

For individuals and couples: Camry or Taurus If there are two of you with two bags, a sedan is an excellent and economical choice. The Ford Taurus gives noticeably more legroom for a small difference in fare — worth it on a trip this long.

For families: Staria Eight seats, real luggage space and separate air-conditioning for the rear rows. This is the most requested option for families on this route, and for good reason.

For groups and operators: Hiace Ten seats and very large luggage space, at a lower cost per person than anything else. The logical choice for large groups.

For VIP guests: GMC Yukon Leather seats, separate air-conditioning per row and tinted windows. For when privacy and comfort matter more than the fare.

One last tip Ask the driver to stop for a break halfway. Most of our drivers suggest it anyway, but saying so up front puts you at ease.
