There are three practical ways to get from Jeddah Airport to Makkah. Each has a situation where it genuinely wins, so here is an honest comparison.

A private car with a driver A direct trip from the arrivals hall to your hotel door, taking about an hour and a quarter. The driver meets you by name, helps with the luggage, and there is no changing between modes of transport.

Best for: families, elderly travellers, anyone with a lot of luggage, and late arrivals.

An airport taxi Available as soon as you walk out, with no booking needed, and possibly cheaper for a solo traveller. But the fare is negotiated at the door, the vehicle type is not guaranteed, and with heavy luggage some cars will refuse the load.
